Welcome to Day 13 of 365 Ideas for Office 365. So far we have looked at some powerful uses of PowerPoint, covered some basics of the drawing tab in OneNote, and zoomed in on the Immersive Reader tools that initially appeared in OneNote and have since spread throughout Microsoft Office and O365.

Last time we looked into the Text Preferences tab. Today we will consider the Grammar Tools tab. Unlike the Text Preferences and Line Focus tabs it is sandwiched between, the Grammar Tools are not a collection of a variety of different tools, but just one thorough treatment of parts of speech, with syllabication thrown in for good measure.

The video/GIF below shows some of my previous blog in the OneNote app. (I do all my writing, and collect images and videos in OneNote before transferring them to the blog. I call it staging in OneNote.)

Spell Check In Onenote

Everything else inthis tab is for parts of speech. You canturn on color-coding for one, two, three or all four of the following parts ofspeech: nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. You also have the ability to customize what color each is writtenin. That helps me out a lot. Since I’m color-blind, I can choose colors Ican tell apart. Of course I’d also flipthe switch at the bottom that labels any of the parts of speech that you turnon color-coding for.
